Feature
- Lightweight design
- Pair use (one add at the FPV transmitter, another add at the video receiver)
- Scrambling and descrambling modules are the same. Users can define the scrambling or descrambling function in the software.
- Some buyers need 10 scrambling modules but only one descrambling module on the ground.
Video Encryption Principle
We collect CVBS video and perform AD (analog-to-digital) conversion, encrypt the converted digital signal through FPGA, reprocess the video image, and then output it for DA (digital-to-analog) conversion, and convert it into a standard CVBS output to the transmitter.
Video Decryption Principle
We convert the CVBS video signal received by the receiver into AD (analog-to-digital), decrypt the converted digital signal through FPGA, reprocess the video image, and then output it for DA (digital-to-analog) conversion, and convert it into a standard CVBS output to the display.
FPV Video Scrambler and Descrambler Connection
Parameter settings
1: Open the configuration software, find the corresponding serial port number, select and open the serial port and click “read” to read the current device parameters.
2: Select “Scramble” or “Descramble” mode and enter the required scramble or descramble sequence.
3: Press “Write” to write data.
Hardware Connection
Troubleshooting
Special case description: Due to the differences in the video amplitudes of cameras, video transmitters, and video receivers produced by different manufacturers, the video brightness may not be enough during use. If this happens, please follow the steps below to modify the module.
1. First remove the resistor on the “1” position.
2.If the video amplitude is still not enough, remove the resistor on the “2” position and short it.

FPV Video Scrambler Guide Video
How to test the FPV Video Scrambler and Descrambler Module?
FAQ
Q1: What is the added latency of these FPV Video Scrambler and Descrambler modules?
A: After adding our scrambler and descrambler modules, the delay may increase by 0.1 to 1 milliseconds.
Our AHD / CVBS camera latency:
Q2: What is MOQ for OEM for FPV Video Scrambler?
A:
- For orders of more than 500 pieces, the PCB color and post-welding can be changed.
- For orders of more than 5,000 pieces, the PCBA structure can be changed.
- For orders of more than 15,000 pieces, the encryption Algorithm can be changed. It is a completely customized production and cannot be descrambled by others.
Q3: What are the dimensions and weight of a package of 500 pcs?
A3: One carton, carton size 39x31x23cm and 4.5kgs.
Q4: Can it be programmed? Or is it pre-set to 10 scramblers + 1 descrambler?
A4: Yes, it is programmed. The scrambler and descrambler hardware are the same. You can define the functions or usage roles of the modules on your computer through the software we provide (CVBS Scrambling Assistant).
Q5: May we use your video scrambler with other analog video transmitters and receivers that we may buy on aliexpress?
A5: Sure, it is no problem to use our FPV scrambler on other brands’ analog video transmitters and receivers. We only added a scrambling algorithm to the video, which makes it impossible for the video to be displayed normally on the monitor. It has nothing to do with the frequency and model of FPV VTX VRX.
Q6: What encryption and decryption algorithm does your video scrambler use? Is it AES128?
A6: It is not encryption or decryption. It is video scrambling. Simply put, it completely scrambles the video’s queues through an algorithm.
In our test video on YouTube, you can see that if we input the same encryption algorithm serial number, we can see the video. If we input a different encryption algorithm or do not use a descrambler, the video content is abnormal.
Q7: How to quickly test your FPV video scrambler and descrambler without an FPV VTX VRX?
A7: Please check the below two pictures. We just connected one CVBS analog camera, one scrambler module, one descrambler module, and one monitor to verify the function.
Q8:Do you have any new designs or features of your FPV Analog Video encryptor decryptor module?
A8: We will continue to improve our products based on the problems encountered and feedback from customers in FPV and actual usage scenarios. The following figure is our latest version in October 2024. https://ivcan.com/p/fpv-analog-video-scrambler-and-descrambler-module/
In addition, if you have any hopes or suggestions, please let us know, and our engineers will carefully evaluate and continuously optimize.
Q9: Does this module work on 1.2-1.3ghz Analog frequency?
Q10: Can you tell me the minimum and maximum voltage supply need?
A10: 5-12V. The minimum voltage required is 5V.
It’s preferable to use 12V, because powering it with lower 5V has a problem.
