FAQ
Q: During our radio range tests, we used an amplifier on the transmitter (sky module) but not on the receiver (ground module). Do we also need an amplifier on the ground module?
A: Yes, an amplifier is recommended on the ground module as well. The ground module is responsible for sending control commands to the sky module, so without signal amplification, the effective transmission range may be reduced. This could prevent reliable communication and may compromise your ability to control the UAV at longer distances. Using amplifiers on both ends helps ensure consistent signal strength and maximum operational range.
1. Does this module support IP Mesh?
Yes. The CX7702 / CX6705 version supports optional MANET IP Mesh networking with relay functionality.
2. Is it full duplex?
It uses TDD (Time Division Duplex), enabling bidirectional transmission with configurable uplink/downlink ratio.
3. Can I add an external Power Amplifier?
Yes. The module supports PA control interface for extended range applications.
4. Can it transmit video and RC control simultaneously?
Yes. It supports simultaneous IP video, serial telemetry, and control signals.
5. How many nodes can connect?
Up to 16 nodes per central node in star mode; unlimited scalable in mesh mode (depending on bandwidth planning).
6. What is the power consumption?
Less than 4.5W under normal operation.
7. Can frequency be switched?
Yes, if hardware supports multi-band version and correct antenna is used.
