BDC Frequency Downconverter

To enable compatibility with our receiver, a dual-channel BDC frequency down converter is required. The transmitter operates at 902–928 MHz (centered at 915 MHz), while the receiver’s RF input supports 170–860 MHz by default. Before connecting the transmitter output to the receiver, the down converter shifts the frequency from 902–928 MHz down to 687–713 MHz, ensuring proper signal reception. This solution accommodates the transmitter’s broad 170–3500 MHz range and maintains signal integrity without requiring modifications to the transmitter or receiver hardware. The dual-channel design allows simultaneous processing of two signals for flexible deployment.

The frequency down converter here is 5V DC.

Although the transmitter module supports a wide 170–3500 MHz range, the power amplifier is designed for a 30 MHz bandwidth, and the antenna is optimized for a 50 MHz range to maximize transmission distance and signal strength. Once the transmitter is finalized with a power amplifier and a custom antenna tailored to the customer’s frequency requirements, the operating frequency cannot be freely modified across the full 170–3500 MHz range. The finished product is optimized for the specified frequency band to ensure reliable performance and adherence to design specifications.
