The 640×512 USB Thermal Imaging Camera Module is a high-performance infrared thermal camera designed for industrial temperature measurement, makine görüşü, otomasyon, and scientific applications. Q1: Is the MJPEG format supported? I see that it’s listed in the V4L2 capabilities, but I haven’t been able to use it.
bir: Yok hayır, MJPEG is desteklenmiyor by our thermal imaging camera module.
Although MJPEG may appear in the V4L2-reported capabilities, this is related to the generic UVC/V4L2 driver framework and does not indicate that the camera firmware actually outputs MJPEG streams. The current firmware only supports the video formats specified in the product documentation (such as YUY2/raw thermal data, depending on the model).
Öyleyse, MJPEG streaming is not available and cannot be used with this device. Please configure your application to use one of the supported video formats instead.
2. Çeyrek: I’ve managed to decode the image using the YUYV format. I notice that a red crosshair and a temperature label are always visible in the image. Is there a way to turn them off? I don’t want them to introduce artifacts into my object detection pipeline.
bir: Evet. The temperature measurement OSD (Ekran Görüntüsü), including the red crosshair and temperature label, can be disabled through our extended control protocol.
By sending the appropriate command via the extended protocol or software Thermal Module Component Tool-2025-07-11.zip, you can turn off the temperature OSD overlay and obtain a cleaner video stream for computer vision tasks such as object detection, izleme, or image analysis.
Benefits of disabling the OSD:
- Removes the center crosshair marker.
- Removes the temperature text overlay.
- Prevents overlay graphics from affecting image-processing algorithms.
- Provides a cleaner image for AI and machine vision applications.
